Throughout high school I participated in many different volunteer experiences. In my school it was required to complete 120 hours of community service in order to graduate. I feel that this requirement helped me to become a better person because I was giving my time to others willingly.
One community service activity I was very passionate about was the March of Dimes. It was the community service activity that made me enjoy the fact that it was a requirement. March of Dimes is a fundraiser to help raise money to save premature babies. I began this when I was in the seventh grade and continued all the way thorough until twelfth grade. This is something I am going to stop just because I graduated, I am going to go back and participate with my school in the future as well.
My school is one of the smallest schools in Middlesex County. This doesn't stop us though. For the past eight years we have been the leading school in the amount of money raised. Because of this fact our school leads the walk every year. We are recognized by the March of Dimes Corporation and the ambassador child comes to our school every year to tell us their story.
